Alexander Walke (born on June 6, 1983) is a German former professional football goalkeeper. He played for many clubs during his career, most notably for FC Red Bull Salzburg in Austria.

Alexander Walke's Football Journey
Alexander Walke started his football career at a young age. He was born in Oranienburg, Brandenburg, Germany.
Early Years and First Clubs
Walke began playing football at FC Energie Cottbus when he was 14 years old. In 1999, he moved to SV Werder Bremen. By 2003, he was good enough to join their main professional team. After six years with Werder Bremen, Walke moved to SC Freiburg in 2005. Later, in 2008, he joined SV Wehen Wiesbaden. He played there until the end of the 2008–09 season. On May 28, 2009, he signed a two-year contract with F.C. Hansa Rostock. He played in all 36 games for them that season.
Moving to Austria: Red Bull Salzburg
In 2010, Walke left Germany to play for FC Red Bull Salzburg in Austria. This team was the champion of the Austrian Bundesliga. He was one of three German goalkeepers on the team that season.
Loan Spell and Return to Salzburg
After one year, Walke went on loan to SpVgg Greuther Fürth in Germany's second division, the 2. Bundesliga. He returned to Salzburg for the 2011–12 season. When he came back, he became the main goalkeeper for the team.
European Success with Salzburg
The 2017-18 season was a very special one for Red Bull Salzburg. It was their best ever performance in European football. They finished first in their Europa League group. This was a record for the club, as they had done it four times.
Reaching the Europa League Semi-Finals
After the group stage, they beat strong teams like Real Sociedad and Borussia Dortmund. This helped them reach the UEFA Europa League semi-finals for the first time in their history. On May 3, 2018, Walke played in the semi-final match. Even though they lost 1–2 to Olympique de Marseille in that game, Salzburg won the overall match-up 3–2 and made it to the 2018 UEFA Europa League Final.
Retirement and New Role
Alexander Walke retired from playing football in 2023. He is considered a legend at Red Bull Salzburg. After retiring, he decided to stay with the club. He now works as a coach for young goalkeepers.
