Alexander Walke (born on June 6, 1983) is a German former professional goalkeeper. He played football for many years before becoming a coach.

Playing for Clubs
Alexander Walke started his football journey at Energie Cottbus when he was 14 years old. In 1999, he moved to Werder Bremen. He joined their main team in 2003.
Moving to New Teams
After six years at Werder Bremen, Walke joined SC Freiburg in 2005. Later, in 2008, he moved to SV Wehen Wiesbaden. He played there until the end of the 2008–09 season. On May 28, 2009, he signed a two-year contract with F.C. Hansa Rostock. He played in all 36 games for them.
Time at Red Bull Salzburg
In 2010, Walke left Germany to play for FC Red Bull Salzburg in Austria. He was one of three German goalkeepers for the 2010–2011 season. After a short loan to SpVgg Greuther Fürth in 2011, he returned to Salzburg. He became their main goalkeeper for the 2011–12 season.
European Success
During the 2017-18 season, Red Bull Salzburg had their best run ever in European competitions. They finished first in their Europa League group. Then, they beat strong teams like Real Sociedad and Borussia Dortmund. This helped them reach the Europa League semi-finals for the first time. On May 3, 2018, Walke played in the semi-final match. Even though they lost that game, they won overall and made it to the final.
Retirement and Coaching
Alexander Walke retired from playing football in 2023. He is considered a legend at Red Bull Salzburg. After retiring, he stayed with the club to become a youth goalkeeping coach.
