Jonathan Stewart's Football Journey
Early Life and High School Football
Jonathan Stewart grew up in Shreveport, Louisiana. He went to C. E. Byrd High School there. During his final year, his high school team, the Byrd Yellow Jackets, had a good season. They won 9 games and lost 3. Their season ended when they lost a game 20–7 to Ouachita Parish.
Starting His Pro Career
After college, Jonathan Stewart hoped to join the NFL. He was not chosen by any team during the main NFL Draft in 2013. This meant he was an "undrafted free agent." Even though he wasn't drafted, teams could still sign him.
The St. Louis Rams were the first team to sign him. Later in 2013, on December 4, Stewart signed with the Cleveland Browns. He joined their practice squad. A practice squad is a group of players who train with the main team. They can be called up to play if needed. However, on December 10, the Browns decided to release him from their practice squad.
