Jones Point is a special place in Alexandria, Virginia, right on the Potomac River. It's where the Jones Point Light (a lighthouse!) and Jones Point Park are found. This spot is just north of where a smaller river, Hunting Creek, joins the Potomac.

Back in 1791, this point was chosen as the starting spot for mapping the original borders of District of Columbia. A special stone, called the South Cornerstone, was placed here. You can still see this historic stone today, protected by a wall near the lighthouse.
