Hunting Creek is a special kind of water body called a cove. It is also a small stream that flows into the much larger Potomac River. You can find Hunting Creek between the city of Alexandria and Fairfax County in Virginia.
This creek is formed when another stream, Cameron Run, flows into it from the west. A nearby community called Huntington even got its name from this creek! On the north side of Hunting Creek is a place called Jones Point. Just to the south, you'll find the beautiful Dyke Marsh.
The George Washington Memorial Parkway and the Mount Vernon Trail both cross over Hunting Creek on a bridge. Sometimes, people call it "Great Hunting Creek" to make sure it's not confused with another nearby stream called Little Hunting Creek.
