Joo Sae-hyuk (Hangul: 주세혁) is a famous South Korean table tennis player and coach. He was born on January 20, 1980. Joo Sae-hyuk is well-known for his unique defensive playing style.
As a singles player, he won a silver medal at the 2003 World Table Tennis Championships. He also earned bronze medals at the 2011 Table Tennis World Cup and the 2010 and 2014 Asian Games.
Joo Sae-hyuk was also a key member of the South Korean national team. With his team, he won silver medals at the 2002, 2006, 2010, and 2014 Asian Games. They also won silver at the 2006 and 2008 World Championships. His team also won a silver medal at the 2012 Summer Olympics.
Today, Joo Sae-hyuk is the coach for the Korean men's national table tennis team.

Joo Sae-hyuk's Journey in Table Tennis
Joo Sae-hyuk was born in Seoul, South Korea. He started playing table tennis when he was just 8 years old. He is 180 cm (about 5 feet 11 inches) tall and weighs 68 kg (about 150 pounds).
He joined the national team in 2001. Fans quickly noticed him because of his exciting defensive style. In 2012, he was diagnosed with a health condition. However, he continued to play very well.
Joo Sae-hyuk stopped playing professionally in 2022. After that, he became the coach for the Korean men's national table tennis team.
Joo Sae-hyuk's Unique Playing Style
Joo Sae-hyuk is famous for bringing back the defensive style in professional table tennis. He is one of the few top players who mainly plays defensively. He often returns the ball with a lot of backspin. This makes it hard for his opponents to attack.
Many people call him the best defensive player ever. But he can also attack! He has a strong forehand shot that he uses when he sees a chance. His long rallies and exciting play make him a favorite among fans. Joo Sae-hyuk is one of the players who has challenged China's strong hold on the sport.
Joo Sae-hyuk's World Rankings
Since June 2003, Joo Sae-hyuk has been ranked among the top 40 table tennis players in the world. This happened after he beat a top player named Ma Lin.
From July 2006, he was consistently in the top 20 players. His highest ranking was number 5 in the world, which he reached in March 2012.
