Jordan Craig Hill (born July 27, 1987) is an American former professional basketball player. He played as a center or power forward.
Jordan Hill played college basketball for the Arizona Wildcats. He was picked eighth overall in the 2009 NBA draft by the New York Knicks. During his first season, he was traded to the Houston Rockets. Later, in 2012, he joined the Los Angeles Lakers. After his time with the Lakers, he played for the Indiana Pacers and the Minnesota Timberwolves.
Growing Up and College Basketball

Jordan Hill was born in Newberry, South Carolina. When he was three years old, his mother passed away. He was then raised by his father and grandmother. Later, his older brother and sister also helped care for him.
His cousin, Trevor Booker, introduced him to basketball. Trevor also became an NBA player. Jordan went to North Springs High School in Atlanta. After high school, he spent a year at The Patterson School, a special prep school.
Playing for the Arizona Wildcats
Jordan played three years for the University of Arizona's Wildcats basketball team. He was very good at shooting, ranking fifth all-time in field goal percentage for his college.
In his junior year (2008–2009), Jordan started every game. He averaged 18.3 points and 11.0 rebounds per game. He was recognized as an All-American player that year. He also earned first-team honors in the Pac-10 conference.

Getting Drafted into the NBA
When Jordan Hill entered the 2009 NBA draft, many experts thought he would be one of the top players chosen. The New York Knicks picked him as the 8th overall player. This was a big moment for his career.
Playing for the New York Knicks
Jordan started his professional career with the New York Knicks. He played in the 2009 NBA Summer League, where he showed off his skills. He scored his first regular season points for the Knicks in November 2009. He played 25 games for the Knicks before being traded.
Time with the Houston Rockets
In February 2010, Jordan was traded to the Houston Rockets. He played for the Rockets for about two years. This trade was part of a bigger deal involving several teams.
Joining the Los Angeles Lakers
In March 2012, Jordan was traded again, this time to the Los Angeles Lakers. He played seven regular season games with the Lakers that season. He also played in 12 playoff games, helping his new team.
In July 2012, Jordan signed a new contract to stay with the Lakers. During the 2012–13 season, he brought a lot of energy to the team. In January 2013, he had an injury that needed surgery. He was able to return for the 2013 NBA playoffs.
In November 2013, Jordan started a game for the first time that season. He scored a career-high 21 points against the New Orleans Pelicans. He re-signed with the Lakers in July 2014.
Moving to the Indiana Pacers
On July 14, 2015, Jordan Hill signed with the Indiana Pacers. He played his first game for the Pacers in October, scoring 8 points and grabbing 8 rebounds. He played one season with the team.
With the Minnesota Timberwolves
In July 2016, Jordan signed with the Minnesota Timberwolves. He played for them for one season. In June 2017, he was waived by the Timberwolves.
Playing in Other Leagues
After his time in the NBA, Jordan Hill played in the North American Premier Basketball league. He played for the Nevada Desert Dogs in 2017 and the Vancouver Knights in 2018.
