His cousin, Trevor Booker, who also became an NBA player, first introduced Jordan to basketball. Jordan went to North Springs High School in Atlanta. After high school, he spent a year at a special school called The Patterson School to prepare for college.
When Jordan was a junior in high school, he couldn't play on the school's basketball team. So, he played for an AAU club. This helped him show his skills to college coaches.
At the University of Arizona, Jordan played for the Wildcats basketball team for three years. He became one of the best players in the school's history for making shots. In his junior year (2008–2009), Jordan started every game. He averaged 18.3 points and 11.0 rebounds per game. He received several honors, including being named an All-American.
