Jordi Andree Castell Abusleme (born November 3, 1966) is a famous photographer and television presenter from Chile. He is known for his work in newspapers and for hosting popular TV shows.

Early Life and Education
Jordi Castell was born in San Fernando, Chile. During his childhood, his father moved to France. Jordi was raised by his mother, Mildred Abusleme de la Vega, and her family. He saw his grandfather, Salvador Abusleme, as a father figure.
Castell went to several schools as he was growing up. He started at the San Fernando Institute Marist. He later studied in the cities of Talca and Curico.
After high school, Castell moved to Chile's capital city, Santiago. There, he studied Audiovisual media at the UNIACC university. To continue his education, he moved to Spain. In 1994, he earned a Master's degree from the Escola Catalana de Fotografia, a photography school in Barcelona.
Career in Photography and Television
Jordi Castell has had a successful career in both photography and television. He is also an important public figure in Chile, known for being open about his life.
Work as a Photographer
For eleven years, Castell worked as a portrait photographer for the newspaper El Mercurio. A portrait photographer is someone who takes pictures of people. He contributed to many different sections of the newspaper. He also wrote for magazines like Blank and Art on the Edge.
Throughout his career, he has shown his photography in many exhibitions. He has also helped manage and organize different photography projects.
Television Star
Castell also became a well-known face on Chilean television. He started as a commentator on entertainment shows. One of his first jobs was on the TVN program Midnight: Culture and Entertainment in 2003.
He later joined the show Viva la morning on Canal 13. In 2004, he moved to the TV channel Chilevisión. There, he hosted popular shows like Close-Up.
In 2007, he was a contestant on the first season of the dancing competition Wicked dancing, where he won second place. He returned to the show as a judge for the second season.
Work in Education
Besides his work in media, Castell has also worked in education. He was the academic director for the School of Art Direction at UNIACC university.
Supporting Good Causes
In 2010, Jordi Castell took part in a campaign for the National Women's Service (Sernam). The campaign was created to raise awareness about violence against women. He appeared on posters and in television ads to support the cause. He participated in a similar campaign the following year.
