Jordy Joao Monroy Ararat (Armenian: Ժորդի Ժոաո Մոնրոյ Արարատ) was born on January 3, 1996. He is a professional footballer who plays as a right-back or right midfielder. He currently plays for Santa Fe, a team in Colombia. Even though he was born in Colombia, he plays for the Armenia national team in international games.

Playing for Clubs
Starting in Colombia
Jordy Monroy was born in Bogotá, Colombia. He started playing football at a young age, joining the youth team of his hometown club, Independiente Santa Fe, when he was 11.
He made his first professional appearance on November 1, 2015. This was in a top Colombian league game, Categoría Primera A. He played in a 1–1 draw against Envigado. Jordy played nine games for Santa Fe. He often filled in when the main players were resting for bigger games. He left the club in January 2016.
A New Path and Success
After leaving Santa Fe, Jordy tried out for a French team and other Colombian clubs, but it didn't work out. For a short time, he even worked as an Uber driver.
Then, he had a choice between two teams: Boyacá Chicó and Cúcuta Deportivo. He chose Boyacá Chicó. He helped them win the Categoría Primera B (the second division league) in 2017. This meant his team moved up to the top league!
In 2018, Boyacá Chicó went back down to the second division. On August 27, 2019, Jordy scored his first goal as a senior player. It helped his team win 3–2 against Cortuluá.
Playing in Armenia
On July 21, 2020, Jordy moved to Armenia. He signed with FC Noah, a club in the Armenian Premier League. He played for Noah for two years. On July 5, 2022, his contract ended, and he left the club.
Back to Colombia
After playing in Armenia, Jordy Monroy came back to Colombia. On July 19, 2022, he signed a one-year contract with DIM.
In June 2023, he joined Deportivo Pereira. Then, in 2024, he returned to his first club, Santa Fe.
Playing for His Country
Representing Armenia
Jordy Monroy is an Afro-Colombian. He was able to play for Armenia because his mother, Lucelia, is from Armenia and has African-American heritage.
He was first asked to join the Armenia national team in May 2018. This was for friendly games against Malta and Moldova. He played his first international game against Malta on May 29, which ended in a 1–1 draw.
