Jorge Luis Dely Valdés (born March 12, 1967) is a famous Panamanian former footballer. He played as a forward, which means he was a main goal scorer. He is the twin brother of Julio Dely Valdés and the younger brother of Armando Dely Valdés. All three brothers were professional footballers!

Playing for Clubs
Jorge Dely Valdés started his professional football journey in 1989 in Argentina. He played for a team called Deportivo Paraguayo and scored 28 goals there. After a short time with El Porvenir, he moved to Nacional in Uruguay. In 1992, his team won the Uruguayan Championship. The next year, he helped Unión Española win the Chilean Cup.
Success in Japan
Jorge then moved to Japan, where he became a huge star. He played for Toshiba in the Japan Football League. In 1993, he was the top scorer with 20 goals. He did even better in 1994, scoring 34 goals and leading the league again!
He then joined Cerezo Osaka in 1995, scoring 19 goals. After that, he played for Tosu Futures and scored 24 goals. In 1998, he returned to Consadole Sapporo. He scored an amazing 40 goals, helping his team get back into the top division. He continued to score 20 goals for them in 1999.
Playing in the USA
After his time in Japan, Jorge came to North America. He played for the Colorado Rapids in Major League Soccer (MLS) in the United States. He scored 10 goals and made 6 assists in 32 games in 1999. In 2000, he added 7 more goals for the Rapids.
He later went back to Japan to play for Omiya Ardija and then Kawasaki Frontale before finishing his playing career in Panama with Árabe Unido.
Playing for Panama
Jorge Dely Valdés was a very important player for the Panama national football team. He played for his country for over ten years. He took part in the World Cup Qualifying games for 1994, 1998, 2002, and 2006.
He played a total of 48 games for Panama and scored 19 goals. He also represented his country in the 1995 and 2001 UNCAF Nations Cup tournaments.
Gold Cup Hero
In the 2005 Gold Cup, Jorge scored two goals. He helped Panama reach the final match against the United States, which was a huge achievement for his country! His last game for Panama was in October 2005 during a World Cup qualification match.
Becoming a Coach
After he stopped playing, Jorge Dely Valdés became a football manager. He coached several teams in Panama.
Coaching National Youth Teams
He coached the Panama U-20 team. In 2019, he made history for Panama at the 2019 FIFA U-20 World Cup. His team won their first-ever match in the tournament, beating Saudi Arabia 2–1. This win helped Panama reach the "round of sixteen" for the first time in their U-20 World Cup history!
He has also coached the Panama U-17 team and is currently an assistant coach for the main Panama national football team.
