Jorge Otero Bouzas (born on January 28, 1969) is a Spanish former professional footballer. He played as a right or left defender. Today, he is the manager of Alondras CF.
Otero played in 317 games in La Liga, which is Spain's top football league. He spent 12 seasons in this league, playing for four different teams. His main team was Celta.
He also played for the Spanish national team. He represented Spain in the 1994 World Cup and Euro 1996.

Playing for Clubs
Otero was born in Nigrán, a town in Galicia, Spain. He began his football journey with a big local team, RC Celta de Vigo. He became a regular player for the first team when he was just 18 years old.
He spent seven years with Celta's main team. Five of those years were in La Liga, the top division. His first game in the top league was on August 29, 1987. Celta won that game 1–0 against RCD Español.
Moving to Valencia and Other Teams
In the summer of 1994, Otero joined Valencia CF. With Valencia, he had one of his best seasons in the top league. In the 1995–96 season, his team finished second. He played in 37 games that season, helping them achieve this great result.
Before he retired in 2005 at age 36, Otero played for several other teams. These included Real Betis, Atlético Madrid, and Elche CF. With Real Betis, he experienced both moving up to a higher league and then back down. He played for Elche CF only in the Segunda División, which is the second division.
Playing for Spain
Otero made his first appearance for the Spanish national team on September 8, 1993. It was a friendly match against Chile in Alicante, and Spain won 2–0.
World Cup and Euro Appearances
He was chosen to play for Spain in the 1994 FIFA World Cup. He played in two matches during that tournament. He also played in UEFA Euro 1996, where he appeared in one game.
In total, he played nine games for his country over almost three years. His last game for Spain was during Euro 1996. It was a 1–1 tie in the group stage against France.
