Early Life and Career
Joseph Jouthe was born in a place called Thomonde, Haiti, in 1961. Before becoming a politician, he worked as an engineer.
Becoming a Minister
In September 2018, Joseph Jouthe took on an important role. He became the Minister of the Environment. This meant he was in charge of protecting Haiti's nature, land, and resources.
About a year later, in September 2019, he also became the acting Minister of Economy and Finance. In this job, he helped manage Haiti's money and financial plans for the country.
Prime Minister of Haiti
On March 2, 2020, Joseph Jouthe was chosen to be the Prime Minister of Haiti. He officially started this very important job two days later. As Prime Minister, he worked with the President to lead the country's government.
He served as Prime Minister until April 14, 2021. On that day, he announced that he was stepping down from his role. After he resigned, Claude Joseph was chosen by President Jovenel Moïse to take over as a temporary replacement.
