Early Life and Education
Josh Awotunde was born in Lanham, Maryland, in 1995. He grew up in Franklinville, New Jersey. His parents are Adeola and Christina Awotunde. Josh graduated from Delsea Regional High School in New Jersey in 2013. He then attended the University of South Carolina. He completed his studies there in 2017. Josh has family roots in Nigeria.
College Sports Career
While at the University of South Carolina, Josh competed for the South Carolina Gamecocks. He was a very strong shot putter. In 2018, he finished second at the 2018 NCAA Division I Outdoor Track and Field Championships. This was a major achievement for him. During his college career, Josh set a personal best of 21.33 meters in 2018. He also won a gold medal at the 2018 Southeastern Conference Indoor Track and Field Championships.
