Joshua Aloiye Okogie (pronounced ə-KOH-ghee; born 1 September 1998) is a professional basketball player. He is Nigerian-American and plays for the Charlotte Hornets in the National Basketball Association (NBA). Before joining the NBA, he played college basketball at Georgia Tech. He was chosen by the Minnesota Timberwolves in the 2018 NBA draft. Josh also plays for the Nigeria national team.

Early Life and Basketball Beginnings
Josh Okogie moved to the United States with his family when he was three years old. They settled in Snellville, Georgia. That's where Josh started playing basketball. He played for Shiloh High School.
College Basketball Career
Josh Okogie played as a shooting guard in college. He was 6 feet 4 inches tall. He signed with Georgia Tech to play college basketball.
In his first year, Josh was very impressive. He scored about 16.1 points and grabbed 5.4 rebounds per game. He was even named to the ACC All-Freshman Team. This means he was one of the best new players in the ACC conference.
In his second year, Josh continued to play well. He led Georgia Tech in scoring, averaging 18.2 points per game. After this great season, he decided to enter the 2018 NBA draft.
Professional Basketball Journey
Playing for the Minnesota Timberwolves (2018–2022)
On 21 June 2018, the Minnesota Timberwolves picked Josh Okogie. He was the 20th player chosen in the 2018 NBA draft. He officially signed with the Timberwolves in July.
Josh played in the NBA Summer League before his first season. When another player, Jimmy Butler, was traded, Josh started playing more. He became a starter for the team and played about 22 minutes per game. He also played in the 2019 NBA Summer League. In January 2019, he was chosen for the World Team in the Rising Stars Challenge. This game features the best young players in the NBA.
Time with the Phoenix Suns (2022–2025)
On 2 July 2022, Josh Okogie signed with the Phoenix Suns. On 7 December, he had his best scoring game ever. He scored 28 points in a game against the Boston Celtics.
He re-signed with the Suns on 13 July 2024.
Joining the Charlotte Hornets (2025–Present)
On 15 January 2025, Josh Okogie was traded to the Charlotte Hornets. He was traded along with three future draft picks. In return, the Suns received Nick Richards and one future draft pick.
Josh played his first game for the Hornets five days later, on 20 January. He helped his new team win 110–105 against the Dallas Mavericks.
Playing for His Country
Josh Okogie also plays for the Nigerian national basketball team. He represented Nigeria in the 2019 FIBA Basketball World Cup.
