Joshua Rogers, born on March 22, 1994, is an American gospel singer. He became famous in 2012. That year, he won the TV show Sunday Best. He was the first boy and the youngest person ever to win!

Early Life

Joshua grew up in Greeleyville, South Carolina. He loved music from a young age. He sang and played the drums at his grandmother's church. She was the pastor there. Joshua finished high school in 2012. He graduated from C.E. Murray High School.

Winning Sunday Best

Joshua tried out for the TV show Sunday Best in Atlanta. This was for the show's fifth season. Right away, fans and judges loved him. The judges were famous singers like Yolanda Adams, Donnie McClurkin, and CeCe Winans. The show's host, Kirk Franklin, even gave Joshua a cool nickname: "Young Buck."

Joshua sang many songs on the show. He performed "Peace Be Still" by Vanessa Bell Armstrong. He also sang "Well Done" by Deitrick Haddon. Another song he performed was "We Expect You" by Andrae Crouch. He did great every week!

In the end, Joshua made it to the finals. Another talented teen, Alexis Spight, was also in the finals. Joshua won the competition! He made history as the first boy and the youngest person to win Sunday Best. As the winner, Joshua received a cash prize. He also got a new 2013 Ford Escape car. Plus, he earned a recording contract with Music World Entertainment.

Music After Sunday Best

After winning Sunday Best, Joshua released his first album. It was called Well Done. The album came out on December 4, 2012. It included many of the songs he sang on the TV show. Well Done was a huge success! It went straight to number one on the Billboard Gospel Album Charts. It sold almost 6,000 copies in its first week.

Joshua released his second album on October 29, 2013. This album was named Unconditional. It was special because it had all new, original songs. Joshua even helped write some of them! This album also did very well. It reached number two on the Billboard Gospel Album charts.
