A Look Back: The History of Josselyn
Josselyn got its name from a special person named Simeon T. Josselyn. He was a railroad official, meaning he worked for the train companies that were very important for travel and trade back then.
Simeon T. Josselyn was also a hero during the American Civil War. This was a big war in the United States that happened from 1861 to 1865. He received the Medal of Honor, which is the highest award a soldier can get for bravery in battle.
A post office was set up in Josselyn in 1898. This was a place where people could send and receive letters and packages. However, the post office only stayed open for a short time and was closed in 1900.
