José Ramón Bauzá Díaz was born on November 16, 1970. He is a Spanish politician. He served as the president of the Balearic Islands from 2011 to 2015.
His father was from Mallorca, and his mother was from Madrid. He studied to become a pharmacist at the Complutense University of Madrid. He owns his own pharmacy in his hometown of Marratxí.

José Ramón Bauzá Díaz has held many important roles in Spanish politics. He started his career in local government. Later, he moved on to regional and even European politics.
Early Political Steps in Marratxí
Bauzá began his political journey in his hometown of Marratxí.
- From 1995 to 1999, he was a councillor in the Marratxí City Council. This meant he represented the people and helped make decisions for the town.
- Between 2001 and 2003, he became a deputy mayor. He was in charge of areas like town planning and health.
- He then served as the Mayor of Marratxí from 2005 to 2011. As mayor, he was the main leader of the city government.
Leading the Balearic Islands
Bauzá took on bigger roles in the People's Party. This is one of Spain's major political groups.
- From 2007 to 2009, he was the vice-president of the People's Party in the Balearic Islands.
- He then became the president of the party for the Balearic Islands from 2009 to 2015.
- His most significant role in the region was serving as the president of the Balearic Islands from 2011 to 2015. This made him the head of the regional government.
Serving in the Spanish Senate
After his time as president of the Balearic Islands, Bauzá continued his political work.
- From 2015 to 2019, he was a senator for Spain. He was chosen by the Parliament of the Balearic Islands to represent the region in the national parliament.

In 2019, José Ramón Bauzá Díaz joined a different political party called Citizens.
