Jourdanton is a city in Atascosa County, Texas, United States. It is the main city, also known as the county seat, of Atascosa County. In 2020, about 4,094 people lived there. Jourdanton is also part of the larger San Antonio metropolitan area.

History of Jourdanton
Jourdanton was started in 1909. It was named after its founder, Jourdan Campbell. Just one year later, in 1910, Jourdanton became the county seat. This means it became the main city for government in Atascosa County. Before that, the county seat was in a nearby city called Pleasanton.
Location and Geography
Jourdanton is located in the middle of Atascosa County. It is about 37 miles (60 km) south of downtown San Antonio. Two main roads, Texas State Highway 16 and Texas State Highway 97, cross in the center of the city.
Highway 16 goes north to San Antonio. It also goes south towards the Mexican border. Highway 97 leads northeast to Pleasanton and Floresville. It also goes southwest to Cotulla. Jourdanton covers a total area of about 3.58 square miles (9.28 square kilometers). All of this area is land.
