Joyce Randolph (born Sirola) was an American actress. She was born on October 21, 1924, and passed away on January 13, 2024. She is most famous for her role as Trixie Norton. This was in the popular TV show The Honeymooners.

Early Life and Acting Career
Joyce Randolph was born in Detroit, Michigan. Her birthday was October 21, 1924. Her family had roots in Finland. As a teenager, she loved acting. She performed with the Wayne University Workshop.
After high school, she worked in a store. It was a Saks Fifth Avenue in Detroit. A play called Stage Door came to Detroit. She tried out for a part and got it. She then toured with the play.
In 1943, she moved to New York City. She wanted to become a full-time actress. She got roles on Broadway stages. She also appeared in many television shows.
In 1951, Jackie Gleason saw her in a TV commercial. He asked her to be in a skit. This was on his show, Cavalcade of Stars. Soon after, she was chosen to play Trixie in The Honeymooners. Some writers called her the "Garbo of Detroit." She said it was a mystery why. She thought it might be because both she and Greta Garbo were of Scandinavian background.

Randolph first played Trixie in short skits. These were on The Jackie Gleason Show. Later, she continued the role in The Honeymooners. The main cast included Jackie Gleason as Ralph Kramden. Art Carney played Ed Norton. Audrey Meadows was Alice Kramden. Joyce Randolph played Thelma "Trixie" Norton.
In 2015, Randolph shared why she did not return for later Honeymooners shows. She said it was for personal reasons. She also mentioned that Jackie Gleason felt she was the perfect Trixie.
Randolph said it was hard to ask Gleason for more lines. "You don't even talk to Jackie," she explained. "He didn't talk much and didn't like to rehearse." She said filming the show was very busy. They filmed all 39 episodes in one year. Even though there wasn't much talking among the cast, everyone showed up. They filmed the show live in front of an audience every Saturday.
Other Acting Roles
On Broadway, Randolph was in a play called Ladies Night in a Turkish Bath. This was in 1950. After playing Trixie Norton, it was hard for her to get other parts. Directors often said, "No, we can't use her. She's too well known as Trixie."
She still performed in summer musicals. She also made commercials. She had a few guest roles on TV shows. In 1991, she played Trixie Norton again. This was in an episode of Hi Honey, I'm Home!. Audrey Meadows also returned as Alice Kramden in that episode.
Personal Life and Legacy
Joyce Randolph married Richard Lincoln Charles. He was a successful marketing executive. They got married on October 2, 1955. This was just one day after The Honeymooners first aired. Richard Charles passed away in 1997. He was 74 years old. Their son, Randolph Richard Charles, was born in 1960. He also became a marketing executive.
Joyce Randolph was the grand-aunt of Tim Redding. He was a pitcher in Major League Baseball.
Joyce Randolph died peacefully in her sleep. She passed away on January 13, 2024. She was 99 years old. She had lived in New York City for a long time. She was receiving care for old age. Joyce Randolph was the last living main cast member of The Honeymooners.
