Juan Joseph (born August 26, 1987 – died November 16, 2014) was a talented American football player. He played as a quarterback in Arena football, American football, and Canadian football. His last team was the Lafayette Wildcatters in the Southern Indoor Football League (SIFL). He also played college football for the Millsaps Majors.

Early Life and High School Football

Juan Joseph grew up in Edgard, Louisiana. He went to West Saint John Parish High School. There, he was a key player on the Rams football team. His team won the Class 2A State Championship in both 2003 and 2004.

Juan was a very athletic student. He played baseball and basketball, and he joined the football team in his second year of high school. Some of his teammates, like Tyson Jackson and Quinn Johnson, later played in the NFL.

College Football Career

Juan Joseph played college football for the Millsaps College Majors. Millsaps is part of the NCAA's Division III. He had a chance to go to another university on a scholarship. But he chose Millsaps because he wanted to study business at a well-known school.

In 2005, his first year, Juan was a backup quarterback. The team finished with a 2–7 record.

Turning the Team Around

In 2006, Juan helped turn the Millsaps team around. A new coach, Mike DuBose, joined the team. Juan led the Majors to a 7–4 record, winning their conference (6–0). They won their third SCAC title. Juan was named the conference's best player that year.

In 2007, Juan again led the Majors to another SCAC title. The team finished with an 8–2 record. He was named the conference's player of the year for the second time.

Senior Year Success

His senior year in 2008 was one of the best in the team's history. The Majors finished with an amazing 11–1 record. They were ranked #12 nationally. Juan was named the SCAC player of the year for the third time in a row.

He also won the Conerly Trophy. This award goes to the best college football player in Mississippi. Juan beat out future NFL players Michael Oher and Peria Jerry for the award. He was also a finalist for the Gagliardi Trophy.

Juan played in 38 games for the Majors from 2005 to 2008. He threw for 9,295 yards and 87 touchdowns. He also ran for 537 yards and 8 touchdowns. During his time, the Majors had a 28–14 winning record. They won three SCAC titles and made it to the playoffs twice. Juan's main goal in college was to get a good education, not necessarily to play professionally.
