Juan Antonio Marín Lozano, born on December 31, 1962, is a Spanish businessman and politician. He started his political journey in 2007. At that time, his local group was chosen to be part of the city council in his hometown of Sanlúcar de Barrameda. He served as a deputy mayor until 2015.
Later, Marín's group joined a bigger national party called Citizens (Cs). He became the party's main candidate for the leader of the Regional Government of Andalusia in 2015. His party won seats in the Parliament of Andalusia and supported the existing government. In 2018, his party gained more support, winning 21 seats. He then became the Vice President in a government formed by a partnership between the People's Party (PP) and Citizens. However, in the 2022 regional election, his party lost all its seats.

About Juan Marín
Early life and career
Juan Marín was born in Sanlúcar de Barrameda, a town in the Province of Cádiz, Spain. He began studying Labour Relations but stopped in 1981. He then started working in his family's jewelry business. He also led the Business Association in his hometown.
Starting in local politics
From 2007 to 2015, Marín was a town councillor. Before joining Citizens, he represented different local groups. He first ran for elections in 1983. He once said that the best mayor of Sanlúcar was José Luis Medina Lapieza, who served from 1979 to 1987. Marín admired him for achieving "a lot when there weren't many resources."
In 2006, Marín created a local group called Independent Citizens of Sanlúcar (CIS). This happened after a strike by refuse collectors. In the 2007 local elections, CIS won three seats on the council. They then formed a government with the Spanish Socialist Workers' Party (PSOE). This partnership helped them break the majority held by another party. Marín became the deputy mayor. This successful partnership continued in the 2011 elections. In the same year, he connected CIS with Albert Rivera's national party, Citizens.
Moving to regional politics
Juan Marín was chosen to be Citizens' main candidate for the 2015 regional election in Andalusia. He was the only candidate who met the requirements. Running in Seville, he led his party to fourth place. They won nine seats and entered the Parliament of Andalusia for the first time. At first, he did not want to join a government with the PSOE leader, Susana Díaz. However, they later reached an agreement, and he supported her in June.
In the 2018 Andalusian regional election, Citizens grew significantly. They won 21 seats and came in third place. They then formed a government with the People's Party (PP), with support from another party called Vox. The leader of the PP, Juanma Moreno, became the president. Juan Marín became the Vice President in this new government. He also served as the Minister for Tourism, Regeneration, Justice, and Local Administration.
Marín led his party again in the 2022 Andalusian regional election. However, this time, his party lost all their seats in the parliament. The People's Party, led by Juanma Moreno, won a majority. After the results, Marín became emotional. He said that his children could now have their father back.
