Juan O'Donnell y Vargas (1864–1928) was an important Spanish politician and military leader. He held the title of the 3rd Duke of Tetuán. He was known for his work in the Spanish government and his connections with important figures of his time.

Life and Career
Juan O'Donnell was born in Madrid, Spain, in 1864. He inherited important noble titles, becoming the 3rd Duke of Tetuán and the 3rd Count of Lucena. He was also a Grandee of Spain, which is a very high noble rank in Spain.
Military and Government Roles
O'Donnell served as a Cavalry Colonel in the Spanish military. He also became the Director of the School of Military Riding. In 1896, he married Dona Maria Diaz de Mendoza y Aguado. His father was Carlos O'Donnell y Abréu, the 2nd Duke of Tetuán.
From 1924 until his death in 1928, Juan O'Donnell served as the Minister for War. This meant he was in charge of the country's military forces. He worked under the leader Miguel Primo de Rivera during this time.
Meeting Winston Churchill
In 1895, O'Donnell was a lieutenant. He helped guide Winston Churchill, who later became a famous British Prime Minister, during a military visit to Cuba. Churchill later wrote in his books that Juan O'Donnell spoke excellent English.
Irish Connections
In January 1922, Juan O'Donnell was the president of a special meeting in Paris. This meeting was called the "World Congress of the Irish Race." It brought together people of Irish heritage from all over the world. They discussed ways to help Ireland grow and rebuild after the Irish Civil War.
