Judith Ann Morris (born 17 February 1947) is an Australian actress, film director, and screenwriter. She is known for playing many different roles in television shows and movies.
Judy started her career as a child actress. She appeared on screen until 1999. Since then, she has focused on writing and directing films. One of her most famous projects was co-writing and co-directing Happy Feet. This animated movie is about penguins in Antarctica. Happy Feet became Australia's biggest animated film project at the time.

Early Acting Career
Judy Morris got her first acting job when she was just 10 years old. She was in a TV episode called "Picture of the Magi" in 1957. This was part of a show called Family Theater in the United States.
She then had two more roles in the US. At age 10, she appeared on The Loretta Young Show. In 1960, when she was 13, she was on The Chevy Mystery Show. This episode was hosted by the famous actor Vincent Price.
Acting in Australia
After her early roles in the US, Judy returned to Australia. Her next acting job came in 1967, when she was 20. She worked on the ABC television series Bellbird.
Casting agents were impressed with her talent. She was then cast in many popular TV series. These included seven episodes of Division 4 and four episodes of Matlock Police. She also appeared in three episodes of Homicide. Other big roles were in Over There (24 episodes) and Certain Women (26 episodes).
In 1970, she starred in the film 3 to Go. She also played the part of Sam in the 1978 movie In Search of Anna. Later, she was the main actress, playing Jill Cowper, in the 1979 film The Plumber. This movie started as a short TV series directed by Peter Weir. It became very popular and was later released as a DVD.
The 1980s brought even more success for Judy. She starred in Maybe This Time (1980) and Strata (1983). In Phar Lap (1983), she played Bea Davis. Bea was the wife of Phar Lap's owner, David J. Davis.
In 1989, Judy played Catherine Faulkner in Bangkok Hilton. She was the mother of the main character, Kat Stanton, played by Nicole Kidman. In 1986, Judy was cast as Margaret 'Meg' Stenning in the miniseries The Last Frontier. She acted alongside Jason Robards and Jack Thompson.
During this time, she also played Liz Beare in the series Mother and Son. Liz was the daughter-in-law of Maggie Beare, played by Ruth Cracknell. This series ran for many years, from 1984 to 1994. Judy also starred as an American photographer in the film Razorback.
After these roles, she played Mrs Muggleton in eight episodes of Spellbinder (1995). In 1996, she lent her voice to Melba the Crocodile for the animated TV show Crocadoo.
Writing and Directing Films
Judy Morris is also a talented writer and director. In 1989, she wrote and directed the comedy film Luigi's Ladies.
She later worked with George Miller and Dick King-Smith. Together, they wrote Babe: Pig in the City in 1998.
In 2002, she wrote an episode of the TV series Dinotopia. Then, she co-wrote Happy Feet with Warren Coleman, John Collee, and George Miller. Happy Feet was the first Australian animated film to win an Academy Award for Best Animated Feature. For her writing work on Happy Feet, Judy was nominated for an Annie Award.
She also wrote the screenplay for Fred Schepisi's 2011 film, The Eye of the Storm. This movie was based on a novel of the same name.
