Julius Babao's Journey in Journalism
Julius Babao started his career in 1990. He began as a production assistant at GMA Network. This was for their radio station DZBB-AM.
Early Career and Moving to ABS-CBN
Through hard work, Julius became a radio reporter. He also contributed to GMA News. In 1993, he moved to ABS-CBN. There, he became a television reporter for TV Patrol. Soon after, he was chosen to be a standby anchor. This meant he could fill in for the main news anchor.
Hosting Morning Shows and News Programs
In 1996, Julius Babao got his own show. It was called Alas Singko Y Medya. He hosted it with Christine Bersola, who later became his wife. They hosted this show until 2001. After that, they hosted another talk show. It was called Talk TV from 2001 to 2002.
In April 2003, Julius became a main anchor. He joined TV Patrol, a major news program. He later anchored TV Patrol World with Karen Davila and Ted Failon.
Radio Programs and Public Affairs
In 2004, Julius and his wife started a radio show. It was called Magandang Morning with Julius and Tintin. This show aired on DZMM. Changes in News Anchoring Roles
On November 5, 2010, Julius left TV Patrol. He moved to anchor Bandila. This was a late-evening newscast. He anchored it with Ces Oreña-Drilon.
In 2011, he started anchoring Aksyon Ngayon. He also anchored Radyo Patrol Balita: Alas-Dose. Both shows aired on weekdays. In 2017, he hosted Lingkod Kapamilya. He continued to anchor news on DZMM. He also hosted Mission Possible. This was an award-winning show that helped people.
Leaving ABS-CBN and Joining TV5
Julius Babao returned to TV Patrol in September 2020. He filled in for other anchors. He left ABS-CBN on December 31, 2021. He had worked there for 28 years. This change happened after ABS-CBN faced issues with its broadcast license.
In January 2022, Julius joined TV5. He became the main anchor for Frontline Pilipinas. This is TV5's primetime newscast. He started on February 7, 2022. He anchors alongside Cheryl Cosim. On March 21, 2022, he and his wife launched a new show. It is called Julius & Tintin: Para Sa Pamilyang Pilipino. It airs on Radyo5 92.3 News FM and One PH. In September 2024, his program Julius Babao Unplugged also debuted on TV5.

Family Life
He is married to Christine Bersola. They have two children. Their daughter is Antonia Julia Sofia, also known as Anya, born in 2005. Their son is Antonio Francesco, born in 2010. The family also loves animals. They have raised Siberian Huskies.
Hobbies and Interests
Julius and Christine are also big art collectors. They have bought many paintings from the Boston Gallery. In 2008, for Julius's 40th birthday, they held an art auction. Many artists took part. The money raised helped develop the Art 40 Village. This village is in Bagong Silang, Caloocan.
Julius also enjoys collecting "Hypebeast" items. He collects Streetwear, especially from the brand Supreme. He is also a sneakerhead, someone who collects sneakers. He even has a YouTube channel where he shares his passion for these hobbies.

Julius Babao has received many awards for his work. He was named best male newscaster. This was at the 2008 and 2009 PMPC Star Awards for TV. He also won best morning show host in 1999 and 2000.
In 2008, he received the student's choice award. This was for male news and public affairs host at the USTv Student's Choice Awards. He was also honored by the Anak TV Seal. This award recognizes TV personalities who are good role models for children.
He also won Most Outstanding Male News Presenter. This was from the COMGUILD Center for Journalism in 2007 and 2009.
