Later, Vitellius put Briganticus in charge of a special group of cavalry soldiers. However, Briganticus decided to switch sides again and joined Vespasian, who eventually became the new emperor.
The Batavian Revolt and His Final Battle
Julius Briganticus continued to fight for the Romans. He served under a Roman general named Quintus Petillius Cerialis. Sadly, Briganticus died fighting against his own uncle, Gaius Julius Civilis, during the Batavian revolt. He remained loyal to the Romans until the very end.
