Jung So-min (her real name is Kim Yoon-ji) is a South Korean actress. She was born on March 16, 1989, in Seoul, South Korea. Jung So-min started her acting career in 2010. She is well-known for her roles in popular TV shows like Playful Kiss (2010), My Father Is Strange (2017), Because This Is My First Life (2017), The Smile Has Left Your Eyes (2018), Alchemy of Souls (2022), and Love Next Door (2024). She also starred in the movie Love Reset (2023).

Jung So-min's Acting Journey
Starting Out (2010–2015)
Jung So-min first gained attention when she started acting in 2010. Her first role was in the TV show Bad Guy. After that, she got a main role in Playful Kiss. This show was based on a famous Japanese comic book called Itazura na Kiss. Even though Playful Kiss did not get very high ratings in Korea, it was very popular in other countries. This helped Jung So-min become even more famous.
In 2011, Jung So-min took a short break from acting. She wanted to focus on her studies at the Korea National University of Arts. She returned to TV in 2012 in a comedy show called Standby. Later that year, she played a more grown-up role in the TV series Can We Get Married?.
In 2013, Jung So-min appeared in a special one-episode TV drama called Came to Me and Became a Star. In 2014, she played a rich girl who falls in love in the show Big Man. The next year, 2015, she was in the movie Twenty. She also had main roles in the scary romance movie Alice: Boy from Wonderland and the disaster medical drama D-Day.
Continued Success (2016–Present)
In 2016, Jung So-min starred in a TV special called The Red Teacher. Later that year, she played the main female role in The Sound of Your Heart. This online drama was very popular in China. It was watched over 100 million times on the website Sohu.
In 2017, Jung So-min joined the cast of the family TV show My Father is Strange. She also starred in the comedy movie Daddy You, Daughter Me. In this movie, a father and daughter switch bodies. Later in 2017, she appeared in the romantic comedy series Because This Is My First Life. She also sang a song for the show's soundtrack called "Because You Are Beside Me."
In 2018, Jung So-min was chosen for the main role in The Smile Has Left Your Eyes. This show was based on a Japanese TV series. She also sang another song for this show's soundtrack, "Star," with her co-star, Seo In-guk. The same year, she was in the historical comedy movie Homme Fatale. Jung So-min ended 2018 by starting her first radio show, Jung So Min's Young Street. This helped her achieve her dream of becoming a radio DJ.
In 2019, Jung So-min became part of a TV show called Little Forest. This show was about creating a special garden for children. In December of that year, she stopped being a DJ for her radio show.
In 2020, Jung So-min starred in the medical drama Soul Mechanic. She played a rising music star who had big problems with anger.
In 2021, she made a special appearance in the fantasy romantic comedy My Roommate Is a Gumiho. She played a character that the main actor loved in the past. She also appeared in the TV romance drama Monthly Magazine Home. In this show, she played an editor for a lifestyle magazine.
In 2022, Jung So-min returned to TV with the fantasy drama Alchemy of Souls. In this show, she played a skilled fighter whose spirit was trapped in the body of a servant girl. She also appeared in the movie Project Wolf Hunting.
In October 2023, Jung So-min starred in the South Korean romantic comedy movie Love Reset. In this film, she played a movie producer who loses her memory after an accident.
In 2024, Jung So-min starred alongside Jung Hae-in in the TV romantic comedy drama Love Next Door. She played a woman who was successful but then had a difficult time and returned to her hometown to start fresh. This drama was very popular and had high ratings for many weeks. She is also discussing a role in a new TV show called "Would You Marry Me?".
