Jung So-min (born March 16, 1989), whose real name is Kim Yoon-ji, is a popular South Korean actress. She first started acting in 2010 with a small role in the TV show Bad Guy.
Jung So-min is famous for her roles in many TV series. Some of these include Playful Kiss (2010), My Father Is Strange (2017), Because This Is My First Life (2017), and Alchemy of Souls (2022). She has also starred in movies like Twenty (2015) and Love Reset (2023).

Jung So-min's Acting Journey
Starting Her Career (2010–2015)
Jung So-min first gained attention when she appeared in the TV series Bad Guy in 2010. This role quickly led her to a main part in her next project, Playful Kiss. This show was a Korean version of a famous Japanese comic book called Itazura na Kiss. Even though it didn't get very high ratings in Korea, Playful Kiss became very popular in other countries. This helped Jung So-min become more well-known.
In 2011, Jung So-min took a short break from acting. She wanted to focus on her studies at the Korea National University of Arts. She returned to TV in 2012 in the show Standby. Later that year, she played a more grown-up role in the series Can We Get Married?.
In 2013, Jung So-min joined a new talent agency called SM Culture & Contents. She then appeared in a special one-episode drama called Came to Me and Became a Star.
In 2014, Jung So-min played a rich character who falls in love in the show Big Man. The next year, 2015, was busy for her. She had a supporting role in the movie Twenty, which is about growing up. She also starred in a horror-romance film called Alice: Boy from Wonderland and a medical drama about a disaster, D-Day.
Continued Success (2016–Present)
In 2016, Jung So-min starred in a special TV drama called The Red Teacher. She then played the main female role in The Sound of Your Heart. This web drama was a big hit in China, getting over 100 million views online.
In 2017, Jung So-min joined the cast of the family drama My Father is Strange. She also starred in the comedy movie Daddy You, Daughter Me, where characters switch bodies. Later that year, she joined a new agency, Jellyfish Entertainment. In August, she was confirmed for the romantic comedy series Because This Is My First Life. She even sang a song for the drama's soundtrack called "Because You Are Beside Me."
In 2018, Jung So-min was chosen for the main role in The Smile Has Left Your Eyes. This show was based on a Japanese TV series. She also sang another song for this drama, "Star," with her co-star. The same year, she appeared in the historical comedy film Homme Fatale. To end 2018, she started her first radio show called Jung So Min's Young Street, fulfilling her dream of becoming a radio DJ.
In August 2019, Jung So-min moved to a new management company, Blossom Entertainment. She also became part of a TV show called Little Forest. This show was about creating a special garden for children. In December, she stopped being a DJ for her radio show.
In 2020, Jung So-min starred in the medical drama Soul Mechanic. In this show, she played a talented musician who had problems with anger.
In 2021, she made a special guest appearance in the fantasy romantic comedy My Roommate Is a Gumiho. She also starred in the TV romance drama Monthly Magazine Home, playing an editor for a lifestyle magazine.
In 2022, Jung So-min returned to TV in the fantasy drama Alchemy of Souls. In this show, she played a skilled fighter whose spirit gets trapped in another person's body. In August, Jung signed with TH Company. In September, she returned to movies after three years with the sci-fi film Project Wolf Hunting.
In 2023, Jung signed with Ieum Hashtag. In October, she starred in the romantic comedy film Love Reset. In this movie, she played a film producer who loses her memory after an accident.
In 2024, Jung So-min accepted a role in the romantic comedy drama Love Next Door. She plays a woman who is successful but then has a difficult time and goes back to her hometown to start fresh.
