Justin A. Johnson was an American ice hockey player. He was born on May 5, 1981. Justin played as a right wing. He played for many teams during his career. He even played two games in the biggest hockey league, the National Hockey League (NHL), with the New York Islanders.
Justin's Early Hockey Days
Justin Johnson started his hockey journey playing for the Alaska Anchorage Seawolves in college. After four years there, he became a professional player. His first pro team was the Alaska Aces in the ECHL league in 2006.
Playing in the AHL
Justin spent a lot of his career playing in the American Hockey League (AHL). This league is one step below the NHL. He played for teams like the Manchester Monarchs. He signed a contract with them in 2010 and stayed for a few years.
Later, in 2013, Justin joined the Bridgeport Sound Tigers. He was known for being a tough player on the ice.
Making it to the NHL
Justin's hard work paid off! On March 3, 2013, he signed an NHL contract with the New York Islanders. This was a big moment for him.
On April 11, 2014, when he was 32 years old, Justin played his very first NHL game. It was against the New Jersey Devils.
In his second NHL game, Justin had a memorable moment. He got into a fight with a much bigger player named John Scott. Even John Scott, who was known for fighting, later said that Justin won that fight!
After the NHL
After his short time in the NHL, Justin became a free agent. This means he could sign with any team. He went back to play for his hometown team, the Alaska Aces, in 2014.
In 2015, Justin returned to the AHL. He joined the Toronto Marlies, where he continued to be a strong and physical player for the team. He finished his professional hockey career in 2016.
