Justin A. Johnson (born May 5, 1981) is an American former ice hockey player. He played as a right wing. Justin played two games in the top league, the National Hockey League (NHL), with the New York Islanders. This happened during the 2013–14 NHL season. He finished his career playing for the Toronto Marlies in the American Hockey League (AHL).

Justin Johnson's Hockey Journey
Starting His Professional Career
Justin Johnson played college hockey for four years. He was part of the Alaska Anchorage Seawolves team. After college, he started his professional career. This began with the Alaska Aces team. This was near the end of the 2005–06 ECHL season.
Later, on October 7, 2010, the Manchester Monarchs signed Justin. This was a professional tryout agreement. He played well, so on August 5, 2011, he signed a two-year contract. He stayed with the Monarchs. On August 2, 2013, the Bridgeport Sound Tigers signed him. This was a one-year contract in the AHL.
Reaching the National Hockey League
During the 2013–14 season, Justin played for the Sound Tigers. He was known for his tough play. On March 3, 2013, Justin signed an NHL contract. This was with the New York Islanders, the main team for the Sound Tigers.
On April 11, 2014, Justin made his NHL debut. He was 32 years old. His first game was against the New Jersey Devils. It was a big moment for him.
A Memorable Moment on the Ice
Just two days after his first game, Justin had a famous moment. It was in the Islanders' last game of the season. He had a fight with John Scott. John Scott was a much bigger player.
Years later, in 2016, John Scott wrote about his career. He said that his fight with Justin was the only time he lost cleanly. He even congratulated Justin in his writing. This shows the respect between the players.
Later Career and Retirement
After his time with the Islanders, Justin became a free agent. He did not get another NHL contract. So, on September 23, 2014, he returned to his hometown team. He signed a one-year deal with the Alaska Aces in the ECHL.
On July 26, 2015, Justin returned to the AHL. The Toronto Marlies needed a strong player. He signed a one-year contract with them. He played his last professional games with the Marlies before retiring.
