Mark Justin Roiland (born February 21, 1980) is an American voice actor, animator, writer, and producer. He is known for co-creating the animated show Rick and Morty for Adult Swim. On this show, he voiced the main characters, Rick Sanchez and Morty Smith, from 2013 to 2022. He also co-created Solar Opposites for Hulu, where he voiced the character Korvo from 2020 to 2022.
Justin Roiland also voiced other popular characters. These include Earl of Lemongrab in Adventure Time, Blendin Blandin in Gravity Falls, and Oscar in Fish Hooks. He started an animation studio called Justin Roiland's Solo Vanity Card Productions!. He also founded a video game studio named Squanch Games. In 2023, Justin Roiland stopped working on some of his projects.

Early life
Justin Roiland was born and grew up in Stockton, California. He went to Sierra High School for most of his high school years. He then moved to Manteca High School and graduated in 1998. After high school, he studied at Modesto Junior College in Modesto. Justin Roiland has dyslexia, which means he learns differently.
Career
In 2002, Roiland moved to Houston, Texas. By 2004, he became part of Channel 101. This was a group in Los Angeles started by Dan Harmon and Rob Schrab. There, he made and acted in many short films. He also appeared on the VH1 TV show Acceptable TV. He was a regular on The Sarah Silverman Program on Comedy Central. From 2010 to 2016, he co-hosted a podcast. Some of Roiland's favorite shows that influenced him include The Simpsons, The Ren & Stimpy Show, and Invader Zim.
In 2012, Adult Swim asked Dan Harmon to create a new animated series. Harmon worked with Roiland, and they created Rick and Morty. This show was based on Roiland's earlier work for Channel 101. Rick and Morty first aired in 2013 and quickly became very popular. Fans loved its unique stories and science fiction ideas.
From 2013 to 2022, Roiland voiced both Rick Sanchez and his grandson Morty Smith. He also helped write and produce the show with Dan Harmon. Rick and Morty became one of Adult Swim's most successful shows. Its popularity led to many products like toys and clothes. A mobile game called "Pocket Mortys" was also created.
On August 25, 2016, Roiland started a virtual reality studio called Squanchtendo. It was later renamed Squanch Games. Their first big game, Accounting+, came out in 2017 for PSVR.
