Järna is a small town, also called a locality, located in Södertälje Municipality in Stockholm County, Sweden. As of 2020, about 6,153 people live there.
Järna is well-known for being a special center for the anthroposophical movement in Sweden. This movement is a way of thinking that combines science, art, and spirituality. Because of this, Järna has many unique schools and other places connected to these ideas.
Unique Architecture in Järna
Many buildings in and around Järna have a very distinct look. This is thanks to a Danish architect named Erik Asmussen (1913–1998). He designed many of the buildings in the nearby village of Ytterjärna.
The Cultural Centre
One of Asmussen's most famous designs is the Cultural Centre in Ytterjärna. This building is a great example of his unique style. In 2001, people in Sweden voted it as the second most-liked modern building in the whole country! It's a place where art, music, and performances come alive.
