Jüri Allik's Career
Jüri Allik has earned two special degrees called Ph.D.s in psychology. He got one from the University of Moscow in Russia and another from the University of Tampere in Finland.
He has spent most of his career at the University of Tartu in Estonia. In 1992, he became a Professor of Psychophysics. This means he studied how our minds sense and understand physical things like light and sound. Since 2002, he has been a Professor of Experimental Psychology. This involves doing scientific tests to learn about how people think and behave.
Professor Allik also led the Department of Psychology at the University of Tartu. He was also in charge of the Estonian Science Foundation from 2003 to 2009. He helped edit a science journal called Trames.
