Köthen (Anhalt) is a city in the German state of Saxony-Anhalt. It is the main city of the Anhalt-Bitterfeld district. About 26,000 people live there.
From 1885 to 1927, its official name was Cöthen. This historic city has a rich past. It is especially famous for its connection to classical music.
