Kevin Erondu, known to many as K.E. on the Track, is a talented American record producer. He creates the music beats and sounds for many popular hip-hop artists.
Early Life
Kevin Erondu was born in Tampa, Florida. He grew up in Valdosta, Georgia.
Music Career
K.E.'s big break came in 2009. He produced the song "Swag Surfin" for the rap group Fast Life Yungstaz. This song was played a lot on the radio. It even reached number 62 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. This chart lists the most popular songs in the U.S.
In 2010, K.E. worked on rapper Roscoe Dash's first album, Ready Set Go!. K.E. produced five of the nine songs on the album. This included two popular singles. "All the Way Turnt Up" came out in January 2010. It reached number 46 on the Billboard Hot 100. Many other artists, like Ludacris and Fabolous, made their own versions of the song. K.E. also helped write and produce "Show Out." This song was released in August of the same year.
In 2011, K.E. produced "You the Boss." This song featured Rick Ross and Nicki Minaj. It was planned for Ross's album God Forgives, I Don't. Even though it reached number 62 on the Billboard Hot 100, it was later removed from the album. The song also did well on other Billboard charts. It ranked high on the Hot Rap Songs and Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs charts.
In 2012, K.E. worked with the rapper Future. He helped with Future's first album, Pluto. K.E. produced the song "Magic." This song first appeared on Future's 2011 mixtape. A new version of "Magic" with rapper T.I. was on the Pluto album. "Magic" was released as a single in January 2012. It reached number 69 on the Billboard Hot 100.
Later in 2012, K.E. produced "I'm So Blessed." This song was on DJ Khaled's album Kiss the Ring. It featured many artists like Big Sean and Wiz Khalifa. DJ Khaled liked K.E.'s work on "You the Boss." He then asked K.E. to create beats for his own album.
K.E. is also an artist himself. He has released many instrumental mixtapes. These are collections of music without singing. His mixtapes are in the hip hop, trap, and EDM styles. Some of his series include The Art of Trap and Best Beats in the World.
In November 2012, K.E. shared that he was working on Future's next album. He was also creating tracks with artists like Young Jeezy and Eminem. In December 2013, the song "The Devil Is A Lie" by Rick Ross was released. K.E. was credited as the producer for this song. In January 2014, K.E. released new songs with artists like Kevin Gates. He also produced Mila J's song "Pain In My Heart." In December 2014, K.E. produced three songs on Shy Glizzy's mixtape "LAW 3."
In January 2015, K.E. started his own company. It is called Beat Mechanics Entertainment. He created it to sign new artists and producers.
K.E. was nominated for a Grammy Award in 2014. This was for his work on Tamar Braxton’s album Love and War.
