K. Callan, whose full name is Katherine Elizabeth Borman, was born on January 9, 1936. She is an American actress and writer. Many people know her for playing Martha Kent, who was Clark Kent's mother, in the TV show Lois & Clark: The New Adventures of Superman. More recently, she played Elizabeth, the mother of John the Baptist, in the historical drama series The Chosen.

Early Life and Acting Dreams
K. Callan was born in Dallas, Texas. When she was just five years old, she knew she wanted to be an actress. She started acting in school plays. Later, she studied drama at North Texas State University in Denton, Texas. After college, she taught drama at a Catholic girls' school. She even started a children's theater group.
Acting Career Highlights
Callan's first TV appearance was in an episode of Route 66 in 1962. She started acting regularly on TV again in 1970. She has been a guest star on many popular shows. These include One Day at a Time, St. Elsewhere, and JAG.
She had an important role in an episode of All in the Family called "Cousin Liz". This episode won an Emmy Award. She also played April Stevens Ewing's mother in the TV show Dallas. You might also remember her as Mrs. Monroe, Gabe Duncan's teacher, in Good Luck Charlie. She also appeared in Desperate Housewives and How I Met Your Mother. In the show Heroes, she played an older version of the character Charlie.
Besides acting, K. Callan has written several books. These books help people who want to be actors or directors. Some of her book titles are The Los Angeles Agent and How to Sell Yourself as an Actor. She learned acting at HB Studio in New York City. She also appeared in TV commercials for products like Anacin and Sanka.
