Kady MacDonald Denton is a Canadian artist who creates wonderful children's books. She is mostly known for drawing the pictures in picture books. She once shared that she is one of the few illustrators who still draws everything by hand, without using a computer.

Kady MacDonald Denton was born in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada, in 1941. She grew up in Toronto, Ontario. She went to different art schools, including the University of Toronto. Today, she and her husband live in Peterborough, Ontario.

Awards and Recognition
Kady has won several important awards for her beautiful illustrations:
- In 1998, she won the Governor General's Award for English language children's illustration for A Child's Treasury of Nursery Rhymes.
- She also won the Amelia Frances Howard-Gibbon Illustrator's Award in 1999 for the same book.
- She won the Elizabeth Mrazik-Cleaver Canadian Picture Book Award in 1999 for A Child's Treasury of Nursery Rhymes.
- She won the Amelia Frances Howard-Gibbon award again for 'Til All the Stars Have Fallen: Canadian Poems for Children.
- In 2006, she won the Mrazik-Cleaver award once more for the book Snow, written by Joan Clark.
Special Recognition for Would They Love a Lion?
The book Would They Love a Lion?, which Kady both wrote and illustrated, received a special honor in 2015. The Children's Literature Association named it an Honor Winner of the Phoenix Picture Book Award. This award celebrates picture books that have lasting value, even if they didn't win a major award when they first came out. The judges look at how well the pictures and words work together in the book.
