Kalina is a small, quiet place in Modoc County, California. It's called an "unincorporated community" because it doesn't have its own local government like a city or town. Instead, it's managed by the county.
Kalina is located about 8 miles (13 km) north of Newell. It sits high up, at an elevation of 4,049 feet (1,234 meters) above sea level. This community used to be on the route of the old Great Northern Railway's Bieber Line.
