Kamal Givens (born March 25, 1981), known as Chance, is an American rapper and TV personality. He is best known for his appearances on reality television shows. Chance first became famous on the VH1 show I Love New York in 2007. On this show, he was one of 20 people hoping to win the affection of Tiffany "New York" Pollard. Chance appeared on the show with his brother, Ahmad Givens, who was nicknamed Real. Chance was also a recording artist with Capitol Records.

Growing Up and The Stallionaires

Kamal Givens was the second of four children. He was born in the South Central area of Los Angeles, California. Chance and his brothers, Ahmad, Sean, and Micah, grew up on a horse ranch. Kamal, Ahmad, and Micah formed a rap group called The Stallionaires. Their group name was a nod to where they lived and grew up.

Reality TV Adventures

I Love New York (2007)

Chance and his brother Real were found by VH1 producers in 2006. They were discovered through their MySpace pages. The brothers became two of 20 contestants on I Love New York. This show was like The Bachelor, where Tiffany "New York" Pollard searched for love. Chance was eliminated near the end of the show. He was the runner-up. Chance even rode goats on the show! He later returned to I Love New York 2 as a guest. He helped New York choose the right person that season. New York later said that not picking Chance was her only regret.

I Love Money (2008)

Chance was one of 17 contestants on the VH1 reality show I Love Money. This show brought back contestants from other VH1 shows. These included Flavor of Love, I Love New York, and Rock of Love with Bret Michaels. The contestants competed in challenges to win $250,000. Chance was eliminated about halfway through the show. This happened because he struggled to be a "team player." Hoopz eventually won the competition.

Real Chance of Love (2008)

After I Love Money, VH1 announced a new show for Chance and Real. It was called Real Chance of Love. The show started in October 2008. It featured 17 women trying to win the hearts of the brothers. Chance decided not to choose anyone at the end. He said he was not ready to fall in love.

Real Chance of Love 2 (2009)

Chance and Real came back for a second season. It was called Real Chance of Love 2. They tried to find love again with 20 new women. This season ended with Chance choosing a contestant named "Hot Wings." The runner-up was "Mamacita."

Real and Chance: The Legend Hunters (2010)

A spin-off show called Real and Chance: The Legend Hunters premiered in 2010. It aired on VH1 and had ten episodes. The show followed the brothers on new adventures.

The Next: 15 (2016)

Chance also made a brief appearance on the TV One series The Next :15. He appeared as a friend of Tiffany Pollard.

One Mo' Chance (2020-2021)

In August 2020, it was announced that Chance would star in another dating show. This show was called One Mo' Chance. It aired on the Zeus Network. The first season had 11 episodes. A second season premiered in September 2021. It had 12 episodes and ended in December 2021.

Personal Life

In November 2017, Chance had an unusual experience. He was attacked by a monkey while filming a documentary in Thailand.

Remembering Ahmad

Chance's brother, Ahmad, passed away on February 21, 2015. He was 33 years old. Ahmad is remembered by his wife, Raquel, and his son, Mahdi, along with other family members.
