Kamel Madouri (Arabic: كمال المدوري) is a politician from Tunisia. He was born on January 25, 1974. He served as the prime minister of Tunisia for a short time. His term lasted from August 7, 2024, until March 20, 2025. President Kais Saied ended his time in office.
Kamel Madouri's Early Life and Education
Kamel Madouri was born in a place called Téboursouk in Tunisia. This was on January 25, 1974.
He studied a lot and earned several degrees. He has a special doctorate degree in Community law. This degree focused on how countries in the Maghreb region (like Tunisia) work with Europe. He also has a master's degree in legal sciences. He earned these from the Faculty of Law, Political and Social Sciences at Carthage University.
Madouri also graduated from important schools in Tunisia. He went to the Tunisian École nationale d'administration. This is like a national school for government workers. In 2015, he also graduated from the L’Institut de Défense Nationale. This institute focuses on national defense.
Before becoming a minister, Kamel Madouri held important jobs. He was the head of the Tunisian National Fund for Health Insurance. Before that, he led the National Pension and Social Insurance fund. These roles involved managing money for people's health and retirement.
Kamel Madouri's Political Career
On May 25, 2024, Kamel Madouri was given a big job. He became the Minister of Social Affairs. This role involves looking after social welfare and public services.
A few months later, on August 7, 2024, he got an even bigger role. President Kais Saied chose him to be the new prime minister of Tunisia. He took over from Ahmed Hachani, who had been dismissed that same day. As prime minister, he was in charge of leading the country's government.
However, his time as prime minister did not last long. On March 20, 2025, President Saied removed him from his duties. This happened during a difficult financial crisis in Tunisia. After Madouri, Sara Zaafarani became the new prime minister. She had been the Minister of Equipment and Housing.
