History of Kamrar

Kamrar was officially planned and mapped out in 1881. The city was named after Judge J. M. Kamrar. He was a well-known lawyer in the area. Judge Kamrar also worked as an officer for the Chicago & Northwestern Railway Company. Later in his life, he lived in Blue Earth, Minnesota. He was one of the first people there to own a car! There is a statue in the town square to remember him. Kamrar has had a post office since 1882, helping people send and receive mail for over a century.

Kamrar is located at coordinates 42 degrees, 23 minutes, 31 seconds North and 93 degrees, 43 minutes, 43 seconds West. This helps pinpoint its exact spot on a map.
