Kananaskis is a small community located in the amazing Alberta's Rockies in Canada. It's not a big city or town, but a special place within the Municipal District of Bighorn No. 8 in Alberta. You can find it along Highway 1A.

This community is about 18 kilometers (11 miles) east of Canmore. It's also about 54 kilometers (34 miles) west of Cochrane. Kananaskis sits right on the north side of the Bow River, which is a well-known river in Alberta.

Temperature Highs and Lows

In summer, especially July, the average high temperature is around 22 degrees Celsius (72 degrees Fahrenheit). But it can get as hot as 34.5 degrees Celsius (94 degrees Fahrenheit)!
