Candice McClure (born on March 22, 1980), known professionally as Kandyse McClure, is a Canadian actress. She became well-known for her roles in several TV shows and movies. These include the series Higher Ground (2000), the TV movie Carrie (2002), and the series Battlestar Galactica (2004–2009). She also starred in the film Sew the Winter to My Skin (2018).
McClure was a main cast member in the TV shows Persons Unknown (2010) and Ghost Wars (2018). She also had a regular role as Dr. Clementine Chasseur in the Netflix series Hemlock Grove (2013).

Early Life and Beginnings
Kandyse McClure was born in Durban, South Africa. Her mother was a teacher, and her father was a musician. Her family background is Cape Coloured. From a young age, McClure often traveled between South Africa and Canada. She finished high school in West Vancouver, Canada, in 1998. When she was 17, she acted in a play called Valley Song.
Acting Career Highlights
McClure's first TV role was in the 1999 film In a Class of His Own. After that, she appeared in the teen drama Higher Ground and the series Just Deal, both starting in 2000. Around the same time, she also had a recurring role in the Canadian drama Da Vinci’s Inquest.
Key Roles in the Early 2000s
In 2002, McClure played Elizabeth Munroe in the series Jeremiah. That same year, she took on the role of Sue Snell in the TV movie remake of Stephen King's novel Carrie. She also guest-starred in two episodes of the science fiction show Dark Angel.
Battlestar Galactica and Beyond
From 2003 to 2009, McClure played Anastasia "Dee" Dualla in the popular science fiction series Battlestar Galactica. Her character was a Petty Officer in the Colonial Fleet. She was a regular cast member until January 2009.
After Battlestar Galactica, McClure appeared in a 2009 TV movie based on Stephen King's Children of the Corn. She also co-starred in the TV series Persons Unknown in 2010. In 2012, she joined the cast of the Netflix series Hemlock Grove. McClure has also appeared in other TV shows like Smallville and Reaper.
Honoring History: Viola Desmond
In 2016, Kandyse McClure played Viola Desmond in a Heritage Minute video. This video was released to mark the start of Black History Month. Viola Desmond was a civil rights activist and businesswoman who bravely challenged segregation in Nova Scotia in the 1940s.
Personal Life
Kandyse McClure is involved with CARE Canada, a non-profit organization that works to help people in developing countries. As of 2013, she lives in Vancouver, British Columbia.
McClure is married to musician Ian Cylenz Lee. He proposed to her in December 2012 while they were visiting her family in South Africa.
