Kandyse McClure, born Candice McClure on March 22, 1980, is a talented Canadian actress. She became well-known for her roles in several popular TV shows and movies. These include the series Higher Ground and her part as Anastasia Dualla in Battlestar Galactica. She also appeared in TV adaptations of Stephen King's books, like Carrie and Children of the Corn. In 2018, she starred in the film Sew the Winter to My Skin.
McClure also had main roles in the TV series Persons Unknown and Ghost Wars. She played Dr. Clementine Chasseur in the Netflix series Hemlock Grove.

Early Life and Beginnings
Kandyse McClure was born in Durban, South Africa. Her mother worked as an educator, and her father was a musician. From a young age, McClure often traveled between South Africa and Canada. She finished high school in West Vancouver, Canada, in 1998. When she was 17, McClure got a role in a play called Valley Song.
Acting Career Highlights
McClure's first TV role was in the 1999 film In a Class of His Own, where she starred with Lou Diamond Phillips. In 2000, she appeared in the teen drama Higher Ground and the series Just Deal. She also had a repeating role in the Canadian drama Da Vinci’s Inquest that same year.
In 2002, McClure played Elizabeth Munroe in Jeremiah. She also took on the role of Sue Snell in the TV movie remake of Stephen King's novel Carrie. That year, she guest-starred in two episodes of James Cameron's science fiction series Dark Angel.
Battlestar Galactica and Other Roles
From 2003 to 2009, McClure played Anastasia "Dee" Dualla in the Battlestar Galactica series. Her character was a Petty Officer Second Class in the Colonial Fleet. She was a regular cast member on the show until January 2009.
After Battlestar Galactica, McClure appeared in a 2009 TV movie based on King's Children of the Corn. She also starred in the film Cole that same year. In 2010, she co-starred in the TV series Persons Unknown.
In 2011, McClure was in the short film Just Be Yourself. She also co-hosted the TV program ... God, Rock 'n' Roll. In 2012, McClure joined the cast of the Netflix series Hemlock Grove, which started in 2013. She also completed the film Broken Kingdom. McClure has appeared in many other TV shows, including Whistler, Andromeda, Jake 2.0, Smallville, and Reaper.
On February 2, 2016, Historica Canada released a Heritage Minute about Viola Desmond. This video featured Kandyse McClure as Viola Desmond. Viola Desmond was a civil rights activist and businesswoman who fought against segregation in Nova Scotia in the 1940s.
Personal Life and Interests
Kandyse McClure is involved with CARE Canada, a non-profit group that helps fight poverty in developing countries. She lives in Vancouver, British Columbia.
McClure is married to musician Ian Cylenz Lee. He asked her to marry him in December 2012 while they were visiting her family in South Africa.
