Kansas Bowling (born August 2, 1996) is an American film director, screenwriter, cinematographer, and actress. She is known for directing movies like B.C. Butcher (2016) and Cuddly Toys (2022). She also acts, and you might have seen her in Once Upon a Time in Hollywood (2019).

Early Life
Kansas Bowling grew up in California. When she was 13, she received a Super 8 film camera as a Christmas gift. She immediately started making short films with her sister, which sparked her interest in movies.
Career
Directing Films
B.C. Butcher
Kansas Bowling directed her first movie, B.C. Butcher, in 2016. It starred actors like Kato Kaelin and Rodney Bingenheimer. The famous film company Troma Entertainment helped produce and distribute the movie.
The film first showed in theaters on March 3, 2016, at Grauman's Egyptian Theatre in Hollywood. Kansas Bowling was also the first person to be part of the Troma Institute For Gifted Youth. This shows how talented she was at a young age!
Cuddly Toys
In 2023, Bowling took her film Cuddly Toys on a tour across the United States. The movie is described as a "saccharine nightmare" that explores serious topics about girlhood in a unique "shockumentary" style.
Directing Music Videos
Bowling has directed more than 30 music videos for different artists. She often uses older film types like 8mm or 16mm film for a special look.
One notable video she directed was for the Death Valley Girls' song "Disaster (Is What We're After)" in 2018. This video features musician Iggy Pop eating a hamburger. It was a tribute to an older film where Andy Warhol ate a hamburger.
Acting Roles
Kansas Bowling has acted in many films and music videos. In 2019, she played the role of Sandra Good in Quentin Tarantino's movie Once Upon a Time in Hollywood.
She also appeared in Glenn Danzig's films Verotika and Death Rider in the House of Vampires. In 2020, she starred as Nancy Banana in the comedy film Psycho Ape!. She will return for the sequel to that movie.
In 2020, the band The Killers released a short film for their new album Imploding the Mirage. Kansas Bowling starred in this short film, which was also used for their music videos "Caution" and "My Own Soul's Warning."
More recently, she was in Christmas Bloody Christmas (2022) and played the main role in the slasher films The Third Saturday in October Part V (2023) and Murdercise (2023).
Writing Books
Kansas Bowling has also written two books published by Far West Press. Her first book, A Cuddly Toys Companion, shares details about how she made her film Cuddly Toys. Her second book, Prewritten Letters For Your Convenience, was written with her sister, Parker Love Bowling. They actually wrote it when they were children and published it when they were adults!
Personal Life
Kansas Bowling is the older sister of actress Parker Love Bowling. She lives in Nevada. Her longtime boyfriend is musician Don Devore.
