Early Life and Education
Karla Cheatham Mosley grew up in Westchester County, New York. She studied at New York University's Tisch School of the Arts. She also continued her studies in France at the Roy Hart Vocal Institute.
When she was younger, Mosley performed with Sugar Beats. This was a children's rock group created by Sherry Goffin Kondor. Sherry is the daughter of famous singer and writer Carole King.
Acting Career
Hi-5 (2003–2006)
In 2003, while still in college, Karla Mosley joined the American version of the Australian children's TV show Hi-5. She was the youngest member of the group. Her part of the show was called "Body Move." In this segment, she led viewers in fun stretching, exercising, and dancing. She often helped connect the different parts of the show. She also provided the voice for the character Chatterbox. In 2006, Mosley left Hi-5 to explore other acting opportunities.
Daytime TV Success (2008–Present)
From 2008 to 2009, Mosley appeared in the CBS soap opera Guiding Light. She played the character of Christina Boudreau, a medical student. Christina married Remy Boudreau, played by Lawrence Saint-Victor.
In 2013, Mosley joined another CBS soap opera, The Bold and the Beautiful. She played the character of Maya Avant, who was an actress. She also worked on a web series called Room 8 The Series. This series was with her The Bold and the Beautiful co-star Lawrence Saint-Victor. The web series was part of the storyline for The Bold and the Beautiful.
Mosley's character, Maya Avant, made history in 2015. She became the first bride on daytime television to have a unique story. She married Rick Forrester, played by Jacob Young. Mosley continued to appear on The Bold and the Beautiful until October 2020.
In April 2021, Mosley briefly took over a role on the CBS soap opera The Young and the Restless. She played Amanda Sinclair for a short time. This was while the regular actress, Mishael Morgan, was recovering from eye surgery.
