Early Life and Acting Career
Karley Scott Collins was born in Lake City, Florida. Her parents are Nena and Scott Collins. Growing up, she heard different kinds of music. Her dad played rock music, and her Nana played country music.
Karley started acting when she was only six years old. She got a role in a TV show called The Class. Later, she played a younger version of Paris Hilton in the 2008 movie Hottie and the Nottie. In 2010, she starred in the film Amish Grace. She also played Gretel in ABC's TV series Once Upon a Time.
When Karley was nine, she needed to learn guitar for an acting tryout. She quickly fell in love with playing. This new passion led her to want a career in music.
Music Journey and Success
At 14, Karley started writing down ideas, stories, and song lyrics. She dreamed of becoming a country music star. She moved to Nashville, Tennessee, a famous music city. In 2019, she signed a publishing deal. This meant she could work with other songwriters. She wrote songs with famous artists like Liz Rose and Nathan Chapman.
In 2023, Karley recorded a song called "Petty in the 80s." This song was a tribute to her love for classic rock music. It also honored rocker Tom Petty, who grew up near her hometown.
On May 5, 2023, Karley released her first collection of songs, called an EP. It was titled Hands on the Wheel and released by Sony Music Nashville.
Her song Marlboro Reds was a big hit. Billboard magazine named it one of the "5 Must-Hear New Country Songs" in February 2024. Karley was also chosen for CMT's Next Women of Country Class of 2024. This group highlights rising female country music artists.
On June 7, 2024, Karley released her second EP, Write One. The producer, Nathan Chapman, sent the song "Write One" to country superstar Keith Urban. Keith Urban liked it so much that he recorded it with Karley.
Karley made her first appearance at the Grand Ole Opry on June 26, 2024. The Grand Ole Opry is a very famous country music stage.
Karley will join Keith Urban on his "High and Alive" World Tour in 2025. She will be an opening act, along with Alana Springsteen and Chase Matthew. She has also opened for other big names like Willie Nelson. She has toured with Carly Pearce, Nate Smith, and Corey Kent too.
