Karrakatta is a suburb in Perth, Western Australia. It is part of the City of Nedlands. This area is about 7 kilometers west of Perth's main city center. Its postcode is 6010.
Karrakatta is split into two main parts. The Fremantle railway line runs right through the middle. South of the railway line, you'll find the Karrakatta Cemetery. This cemetery opened in 1899. There is also a small industrial area nearby. This area has businesses that make monuments and other related companies. It also holds the depot for the City of Nedlands.
North of the railway line and the Karrakatta railway station is a different area. This part is home to the Australian Defence Force's Irwin Army Barracks. This is a base for the Australian Army.
