Kaser is a small village located in Rockland County, New York, United States. The name Kaser comes from a Yiddish word meaning "crown." This village is completely surrounded by the area called Monsey. In 2020, about 5,491 people lived in Kaser.
Kaser is special because most of its residents are Hasidic Jews who follow the Viznitz tradition. A small part of the population, about 4%, also has Romanian family roots. Kaser is known for being one of the most crowded places in New York State. It has more people living per square mile than even New York City!
History of Kaser
Kaser was officially created as a village on January 25, 1990. It was started by members of the Viznitz Hasidic group. They wanted to build more homes closer together for their community.
The local government leaders in the town of Ramapo, where Kaser is located, also wanted more housing. So, they worked together to help create the village of Kaser.

The village of Kaser is quite small. It covers an area of about 0.17 square miles (0.44 square kilometers). All of this area is land, with no water.
Kaser is located right on NY 306, which is a state road. This makes it easy to get to and from the village.
