Katharina Galor facts for kids
Katharina Galor (whose name in Hebrew is קתרינה מ. גלאור) was born in Germany in 1966. She is an expert in art history and archaeology, focusing on the areas of Israel and Palestine. Since 1998, she has been a professor at Brown University in the United States, where she teaches about Jewish studies and urban studies.

She even led the Narragansett Chapter of the American Institute of Archaeology.

From 1988 to 2006, Katharina Galor worked as an archaeologist in France and a region called the Levant (which includes Israel and Palestine). She was very interested in how different groups of people lived, their religions, and the roles of men and women in ancient times. One place she worked was Apollonia–Arsuf.
Since 2006, her work has also focused on cultural heritage. This means she studies how important historical sites and traditions are protected, especially in areas like the Israel-Palestine conflict.

Katharina Galor has written several important books:
- The Archaeology of Jerusalem: From the Origins to the Ottomans (published in 2013). She wrote this book with Hanswulf Bloedhorn. It tells the story of Jerusalem through its ancient remains.
- Finding Jerusalem: Archaeology between Science and Ideology (published in 2017). This book explores how archaeology in Jerusalem is not just about science, but also about different ideas and beliefs.
- The Moral Triangle: Germans, Israelis, Palestinians (published in 2020). She wrote this book with Sa’ed Atshan. It looks at the relationships between people from Germany, Israel, and Palestine.
In 2018, Professor Galor received a special grant from the Leo Baeck Institute. This grant helped her work on a new book project about Jewish women.
