Katy Victoria J Wix (born 28 February 1980) is a talented Welsh actress, writer, and artist. She is well-known for her roles in many popular TV shows. These include playing Daisy in Not Going Out, Carole in Stath Lets Flats, and Mary in Ghosts. She also appeared as Barbara in Ted Lasso and Jules in Big Boys.
Katy has also been a contestant on the fun show Taskmaster. In 2009, she had a recurring role in the science fiction mini-series Torchwood: Children of Earth. She has also created her own shows. These include a sitcom for BBC Radio 4 called Bird Island and a sketch show for Channel 4 called Anna & Katy. Beyond acting and writing, Katy is also an artist. In 2017, one of her paintings was chosen for the famous Royal Academy of Arts Summer Exhibition. She has written two books of monologues and published her first memoir, Delicacy, in 2021.

Katy Wix's Early Life and Education
Katy Wix was born in Pontypridd, Wales. She grew up in a village called Peterston-super-Ely, which is near Cardiff. Both of her parents were actors before they started new careers. Her mother worked in arts administration, and her father worked in stage management. Katy also has a brother who is a musician.
Katy went to the University of Warwick in Coventry. After that, she continued her studies at the Royal Welsh College of Music & Drama. This is a special school for performing arts.

While studying at the Royal Welsh College of Music & Drama, Katy Wix entered a comedy competition called Funny Women. There, she met another comedian named Anna Crilly. They later teamed up and performed together as a comedy duo.
Television Roles and Shows
In 2007, Katy joined the cast of the sitcom Not Going Out. She played the character Daisy, first as a recurring guest, then as a regular cast member until 2015. In the science fiction series Torchwood: Children of Earth, she played Rhiannon Davies. Rhiannon was the sister of a main character named Ianto Jones.
In 2010, Katy co-presented a BBC Three series called The King Is Dead. She also played Gemma in the first two series of Agatha Raisin. From 2009 to 2011, she played various characters in the popular children's show Horrible Histories.
Katy also appeared in an episode of the TV crime drama Sherlock in 2017. She played Nurse Cornish. She also played Florence Fagin in the TV show Decline and Fall. From 2019 to 2022, Katy played Mary, one of the main characters, in the BBC One sitcom Ghosts. Her character left the show in Series Four.
Writing and Radio Work
Katy played Phoebe in Tom Basden's stage comedy Party. This play later became a three-series spin-off on BBC Radio 4, also called Party. Katy also wrote and co-starred in the comedy series Bird Island for the same radio station. She also co-wrote and starred in the TV show Anna & Katy.
Katy Wix's Personal Life
Katy Wix has shared that she is autistic, just like her brother.
Katy has faced some health challenges. When she was 26, she was involved in a car accident that caused injuries. Later, while filming Taskmaster, she had to miss two episodes. This was because she needed to have her gall bladder removed due to gallstones.
