Kazushige Kirihata (桐畑 和繁, Kirihata Kazushige, born June 30, 1987) is a Japanese former footballer who played as a goalkeeper. He spent most of his professional career, which lasted 16 years, with the club Kashiwa Reysol. Later, he played for FC Gifu on loan. After retiring in January 2023, he started a new role as a coach for Criacao Shinjuku.

Kazushige Kirihata's Football Journey
Kazushige Kirihata started his football journey in the youth team of Kashiwa Reysol in 2003. He then joined their main professional team in 2006. He played for Kashiwa Reysol for many years, becoming a key part of their squad.
Winning Big with Kashiwa Reysol
During his time with Kashiwa Reysol, Kirihata helped his team win some major trophies. They won the J1 League in 2011, which is Japan's top football league. They also lifted the Emperor's Cup in 2012 and the J.League Cup in 2013. These wins show how successful Kashiwa Reysol was during his career there.
Loan to FC Gifu and Retirement
Towards the end of his playing career, Kirihata joined FC Gifu on loan for two years, from 2021 to 2022. He played as a goalkeeper for them before deciding to retire from playing professional football in January 2023. After retiring, he didn't leave the sport entirely. He moved into coaching, joining Criacao Shinjuku to help train new players.
Playing for Japan's National Team
In July 2007, Kazushige Kirihata was chosen to be part of the Japan U-20 national team. This team played in the 2007 FIFA U-20 World Cup, which is a big international tournament for young players. Even though he was part of the squad, he did not get to play in any of the matches during the tournament.
