Kazuyoshi Mikami (三上 和良, Mikami Kazuyoshi, born 29 August 1975) is a former Japanese football player. He was a defender, known for his strong play on the field. His younger brother, Takuya Mikami, also became a professional football player.

Kazuyoshi Mikami's Football Journey

Kazuyoshi Mikami was born in Saitama, Japan, on August 29, 1975. After finishing his studies at Komazawa University, he began his professional football career.

Starting with Vissel Kobe

In 1998, Mikami joined Vissel Kobe, a club in Japan's top football league, the J1 League. He quickly became an important player for the team. He often played as a left-sided defender, showing his skills in many matches.

Moving to Other Clubs

In 2000, Mikami moved to Verdy Kawasaki for a short time on loan. He played many games there, competing for his spot on the team. He returned to Vissel Kobe in 2001, but he did not play any matches that season.

Later in 2001, he joined JEF United Ichihara. He played in several matches, often coming on as a substitute to help the team.

Playing for Yokohama F. Marinos

In 2002, Mikami moved to Yokohama F. Marinos. He played for two seasons with this club. Even though he was part of the team, he did not get to play in many matches during this time. However, he was part of the squad that won the J1 League title in 2003.

Later Career and Retirement

In 2004, Mikami joined Oita Trinita. He started as a regular player, meaning he played in most games. But as the year went on, his chances to play became fewer.

In 2005, he moved to Omiya Ardija, a club that had just been promoted to the J1 League. This team was based in his hometown area. He played regularly at first, but his playing time decreased from late 2005. Kazuyoshi Mikami decided to retire from professional football at the end of the 2006 season. He played a total of 137 league matches in his career, scoring one goal.
