Keir David Peters Gilchrist (born September 28, 1992) is a Canadian actor. He is well-known for his roles in popular TV shows and movies.
On television, he played Marshall Gregson in the comedy-drama United States of Tara from 2009 to 2011. He also starred as Sam Gardner in the Netflix comedy-drama Atypical from 2017 to 2021.
In movies, Keir Gilchrist appeared in the comedy-drama It's Kind of a Funny Story (2010). He also starred in the supernatural horror film It Follows (2014). Besides acting, Gilchrist is a singer for the bands Whelm and Phalanx.

Early life and background
Keir Gilchrist was born in Camden Town, London, England. His parents are Canadian. His grandfather, Douglas Peters, was a well-known banker and politician.
Keir spent his early childhood in London. Later, his family moved to Boston, Massachusetts, in the United States. They then moved to New York City before finally settling in Toronto, Ontario, Canada.
Acting career highlights
Keir Gilchrist started his acting journey at the Annex Children's Theatre. His first important TV role was Josh McKellar in the show The Winner in 2007.
Breakthrough roles in TV
From 2009 to 2011, Gilchrist played Marshall Gregson. This was the son of the main character in the TV series United States of Tara. This show was a comedy-drama on the Showtime network.
In 2017, he began starring in the Netflix show Atypical. He played Sam Gardner, a teenager with autism who wants to find a girlfriend. This role was very popular. He continued playing Sam for four seasons until the show ended in 2021.

In 2009, Gilchrist got the main role of Craig Gilner in the movie It's Kind of a Funny Story. This film was shown for the first time at the Sundance Film Festival in 2010.
