Keisha Jackson is an American R&B singer. She is the daughter of famous R&B and soul singer-songwriter Millie Jackson. Keisha has built her own career in music, performing as a solo artist and a background vocalist for many well-known musicians.

Early Life and Music Beginnings

Keisha Jackson grew up in a home filled with music. Her mother, Millie Jackson, was a successful singer. Because of this, Keisha was around music all the time. Famous groups like the Isley Brothers and the O'Jays would even visit her house.

When Keisha was fifteen, she started singing backup for her mom. This gave her early experience in the music world. After attending college for a couple of years, Keisha moved to Atlanta, Georgia. There, she decided to fully focus on her dream of becoming a singer. She even formed a girl group called Obsession with a friend. They performed in clubs around Atlanta.

Solo Albums and Chart Hits

Keisha soon got the chance to record her own music. In 1989, she released her first album, which was self-titled, Keisha Jackson. A song from this album, "Hot Little Love Affair," became a small hit. It reached number 39 on the music charts.

In 1991, Keisha released her second album, also called Keisha. This album included the song "Mature Love." While it didn't become a big hit, it still reached number 80 on the R&B charts.

Working as a Background Singer

After her solo albums, Keisha began working with LaFace Records. She became a background vocalist, singing for popular artists. She lent her voice to songs by Toni Braxton, Whitney Houston, and Bobby Brown.

Keisha was also part of a plan by Warner Bros. Records to create a group called Black Coffy. She signed on for the project. However, the group did not release any recordings before the plan was stopped.

Current Music Career

Keisha Jackson continues to be active in music today. She still records new songs and performs live. She has also started her own company called One Voice Entertainment.

Keisha often performs as a backup singer for Erykah Badu's band. She has also provided background vocals for many other famous artists. These include Joss Stone, Angie Stone, OutKast, and Faith Evans.
