Keisha Jackson is an American R&B singer. She is the daughter of famous R&B and soul singer-songwriter Millie Jackson.

Keisha grew up in a very musical family. Music was always a big part of her life. Famous groups like The Isley Brothers and The O’Jays would even visit her home. When she was just fifteen, Keisha started singing backup for her mom.

Starting Her Music Journey

After two and a half years of college, Keisha moved to Atlanta, Georgia. She wanted to become a professional singer. With a friend, she formed a girl group called Obsession. They performed in clubs all around Atlanta.

Soon, Keisha got a chance to release her own music. In 1989, she put out her first album, named Keisha Jackson. A song from this album, "Hot Little Love Affair," became a small hit. It reached number 39 on the music charts. In 1991, she released her second album, also called Keisha. This album featured the song "Mature Love." It reached number 80 on the R&B charts.

Working with Other Artists

Later, Keisha started working with LaFace Records. She became a background vocalist, which means she sang harmonies for other artists. She sang on songs for big stars like Toni Braxton, Whitney Houston, and Bobby Brown.

Keisha also almost joined a group called Black Coffy with Warner Bros. Records. She signed up for the project. However, the group was stopped before they could record any songs.

Keisha Today

Today, Keisha Jackson is still making music and performing. She even started her own company called One Voice Entertainment. She often sings backup for the artist Erykah Badu. Keisha has also provided background vocals for many other famous people. These include Joss Stone, Angie Stone, OutKast, and Faith Evans.
